Job Description
Measure and mix ingredients, such as flour, yeast, water, and other additives, to create dough for various types of bread, pastries, and baked goods.
Operate ovens and other baking equipment to bake a variety of products, such as bread, rolls, croissants, pastries, cakes, cookies, and more.
Develop and modify recipes, experiment with ingredients, and create new baked goods based on customer preferences and seasonal offerings.
Decorate and finish baked goods with icing, glazes, and other toppings, ensuring they are visually appealing and conform to established standards.
Ensure the consistency of taste, texture, and appearance of baked products. Conduct regular taste tests and visual inspections.
Monitor and manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed and keeping records of inventory levels.
Adhere to health and safety regulations, including food safety and hygiene standards. Maintain cleanliness in the baking area and ensure a sanitary work environment.
Manage the timing of baking to ensure that products are ready for service according to established schedules.
Address issues or challenges that may arise during baking, such as equipment malfunctions or unexpected shortages of ingredients.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
Male applicants are preferred for this role.
Must have a hotel and fine dining experience.
Must have completed formal culinary education or baking and pastry arts programs.
Must have several years of experience in a professional kitchen or bakery.
Must have strong baking skills, including knowledge of different types of bread, pastries, and baked goods. Proficiency in mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking techniques is essential.
Ability to experiment with ingredients and create new recipes, flavors, and visual designs is an asset.
With strong attention to detail for achieving consistent taste and appearance in baked goods.
Must be familiar with health and safety regulations and food handling standards is crucial for maintaining a safe and sanitary baking environment.
