TECHNICAL BUYER
 
Duties and Responsibilities
Process purchasing requisitions material and services and turn those into purchase orders with correct contents, right terms, pricing and dates.
Track all purchase orders, monitor and notify requesting department when orders have been filled and invoices from vendors have been issued, answers vendor questions and provides additional documentations needed.
Requests quotation to Vendors and negotiates price based on (EAU) estimated annual volume/long-term forecasted quantity, optimize purchasing cost (esp. MOQ and/or bundling), including payment terms, lead time and incoterms/logistics.
Delivers a monthly open purchase order report and close timely.
Updates and report pricing table regularly.
Works with planning team to ensure that all deliveries satisfies the production requirement and report any back-ordered or any material supply risk.
Assist/supports planning team with maintaining optimum inventory level of materials used on a regular basis by pushing back, pulling in/expedite deliveries to address demand fluctuations.
Ensures supplier on-time delivery (OTD) and resolve delivery issues timely and cost effectively.
Manages supplier relationship and report supplier performance regularly.
Supports other department team, including Engineering, Quality, Production, and Finance.
Ensures all tasks assigned are carried out accurately and timely.
Performs any other tasks assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
Key Competencies/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent.
With a minimum experience of 2 to 3 years as Buyer, production planning, material planning background is a plus and other materials function.
Excellent negotiation skills, analytical, know the purchasing cycle, knowledge in international shipping and logistics, inventory management skills.
Competent oral & written communication skills with good inter-personal relations.
Impeccable attention to detail and ability to work well with a team.
Proficiency in computer applications, preferably spreadsheet, power point and MS Word.
Able to adapt a high-pressure and fast-paced working environment
