Solar PV Operation & Maintenance Engineer
Job Description:
A Solar PV Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Engineer is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. His key role is to ensure the solar installations perform optimally, maintain high energy yield, and have a long lifespan. He is also tasked with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the systems, with a focus on preventive and corrective measures to maximize performance and minimize downtime.
 
Job Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring and Performance Analysis
a. Monitor real-time performance data of solar PV systems using SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) or other remote monitoring tools.
2. Conduct Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
a. Conduct scheduled inspections of PV panels, inverters, wiring, and other electrical components.
b. Clean solar panels and remove any dirt, dust, or debris that may affect energy production.
c. Perform regular equipment testing, including thermal imaging and electrical testing, to detect faults before they lead to system failures.
d. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical failures in PV systems, including inverters, cables, modules, and other components.
e. Coordinate with specialized technicians or contractors when necessary for major repairs.
3. Documentation and Compliance
a. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for regulatory compliance and warranty purposes.
b. Ensure that all work complies with local electrical codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
4. Safety Management
a. Adhere to strict safety protocols when working with high-voltage systems.
 
Job Requirements:
1. Licensed Electrical Engineer
2. Minimum 2-5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of solar PV systems or related energy projects.
3. Proficiency with solar monitoring software, SCADA systems, and electrical testing tools (e.g., multimeters, thermal cameras).
4. Familiarity with electrical grid integration of renewable energy systems.
5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
6. Strong communication skills for reporting and coordinating with internal and external teams.
7. Proficient in using MS office (such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and AutoCAD.
8. A successful candidate must be willing to be assigned in Danao City, Cebu
9. Knows how to drive with Valid Driver's License minimum 2 wheels
