PROJECT MANAGER
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To foster and ensure that customer satisfaction is well maintained. This is to be achieved by ensuring that all of our projects meet client expectations for Quality, Service and are completed on time.
Quality is seen by Alupro as paramount to our long-term success and the maintenance of our Quality System and the improvement processes associated with our Quality System with the confines of your responsibility are part of your responsibility.
Continuous Self Improvement - to find ways to improve both our systems, procedures and most of all the quality of our staff. This can be done by introduction of training or the development of team guidelines etc.
Duties and Tasks
 
The main point of contact for the Designers, Project Coordinators, Project Supervisor / PIC on all Alupro projects. This will involve.
Develop project program schedule in accordance with the contract obligations, timeframes and budget.
To ensure that all projects are completed on time or in accordance with agreed supply schedules.
Develop a well-planned method statement for the logistics, delivery and installation in collaboration with the Project Managers, Project Coordinators and Project Supervisors.
Ensuring the design, purchasing, fabrication, delivery and installation is properly monitored and reports accurately reflect the current situation.
Ensure that reports are issued on time to the project manager/coordinator regarding any issues to do with program and installation problems as they arise.
Closely monitor outputs and issues of the Engineering Team. Provide resolution of every problem encountered in the project.
With your team you are expected to be fully updated at all times on all design, purchasing, fabrication, delivery and installation facets of the projects under your responsibility.
With your team you are expected to ensure that the project budgets are achieved, reducing NCR's and reworks is a key task.
Directly involved in the resolution of any queries regarding Design, Fabrication, Delivery and Installation Program, and any other relevant issues that may arise in regards to the regular progress works.
Where appropriate you are to attend client meetings, and identify issues that may cause concern and in a professional manner solve them to the benefit of the client and Alupro.
Mentoring and guiding the staffs on design, delivery and installation issues
You are to monitor safety on all sites in conjunction with the Safety in Charge as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of Architectural Drawings. This job requires a thorough knowledge of Architectural Drawings and an ability to read them.
Knowledge of Quantity Surveying Methods. This job requires a thorough knowledge of Quantity surveying methods and to be able to read, assembles and price bills of Quantities as required meeting the assigned project requirements.
Engineering. this job requires you to be able to calculate basic moments of inertia and glass thickness to enable you to be able to correctly estimate the requirements of any given project.
English Language. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English Language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, tense, person and grammar.
Mathematics Knowledge of arithmetic, statistics and their applications.
Administration and Management Leadership techniques and coordination of people and resources together with project management skills are required to perform this job.

Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively. To communicate information and ideas so others will understand.

Being proactive in assessing problems and issuing training recommendations to team personnel.
Being a mentor and support to the Project team under them. Visiting the project site to ensure that all areas of your project are running smoothly. This will be measured in number of visits.
During site visits inspecting the site to ensure all standards are met and preparing reports after each visit with constructive comments.
Ensuring that the project billings are collected on time. Action taken to ensure this.
