HEAD OF FINANCE
 
Authorities:
Approve or reject budgets.
Manage and oversee the entire accounting team
Monitor and mentor/train junior staff, clerks, and bookkeepers
Advise business owners and individuals regarding the tax code
Maintain current and garner new client relationships
Consult board members about funding options
Duties & Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Oversee the processing of state and federal payroll taxes
Review corporate and personal income tax returns to ensure accuracy
See that tax interviews are conducted properly with clients
Financial Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Present financial data to senior management and stakeholders.
Forecast monthly, quarterly and annual results
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop, monitor, and manage budgets in coordination with various departments. Provide financial forecasts and projections to support strategic planning.
Overseeing the budgets.
Team Leadership:
Lead and manage the accounting team, including hiring, training, setting performance goals, and conducting regular performance evaluations.
Work collaboratively with other teams to achieve shared goals
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and laws. Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
Internal Controls:
Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions and data.
Recommend cost-reducing solutions
Develop secure procedures to maintain confidential information
Cash Management:
Monitor cash flow and liquidity, managing working capital and optimizing cash resources for operational needs and investment opportunities.
Allocate resources and manage cash flows
Conduct profit and cost analyses
Evaluate and decide on investments
Conduct all necessary training to keep the team's skills and knowledge up to date
Ensure that all necessary documents are requested, collected, and compiled
Detect and address potential compliance issues proactively
Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations at all times
Uphold the excellent reputation of our firm
Maintain constant communication with the IRS, state agencies, and our clients
See that tax consults and onboarding procedures are in place for new clients
Maintain highly organized and updated client files
Report directly to the Vice President
Requirements and Qualifications:
BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
At least 4 years of Experience or specializing in Finance- General/Cost Accounting or equivalent
Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management
Expertise working with QuickBooks and financial statements
Knowledge in all facets of Accounting (General Accounting) is a plus.
Consistent, accurate, and thorough with an eye for details
Exceptional organizational skills and aptitude for numbers
Organize; systematic and has keen eyes on details.
