GENERAL ACCOUNTING
 
General Accounting Job Responsibilities:
Supervise and review the work of the AR and AP Officers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain the company's general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and categorized.
Prepare monthly financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
Reconcile the general ledger and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls.
Ensure the company complies with local tax regulations and accounting standards.
Work with management to prepare the company's budget and monitor financial performance against it.
Provide forecasts and financial analyses to guide decision making.
Lead efforts to prepare for audits and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
Assist in tax preparation and filings, working closely with tax professionals if necessary.
General Accounting Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA license is not required, but a solid academic background in accounting principles is essential.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in general accounting, preferably in the construction industry or project-based environments.
Experience in managing general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Assist in preparing reports for external stakeholders, such as auditors, banks, and government agencies.
Leadership skills to supervise AP and AR teams effectively.
Experience in preparing financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports).
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar platforms).
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with payroll processing and tax management.
