ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Performs the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of electrical control systems, equipment, and components including, but not limited to; transformers, switchgear, bus bars, electric motors, control panels & wirings.
2. Installs, troubleshoots and performs preventive or scheduled maintenance for all electrical and control systems; schedules and coordinates activities with other staff, divisions or departments; ensures the timely and accurate completion of preventive maintenance activities.
3. Performs various testing on equipment to measure parameters by using devices including but not limited to; multi-meter, clamp meter, insulation tester, tachometer, thermometer, hygrometer, anemometer, etc.
4. Provides technical input and equipment specification recommendations for improvement of plant system operations.
5. Prepares and modifies as-built drawings for new and existing electrical systems and components.
6. Conducts monitoring during operation and reports any abnormalities on equipment.
7. Documents work completed, work in progress, and annual permit requirements on computerized maintenance history records.
8. Performs verification on the reading of digital & analog weighing scales, temperature gauges and sensors, pressure gauges, and perform adjustments or give correction factors to correct errors of the reading, keeps and updates records, and schedules external calibration for reference standards.
9. Performs electrical work including repairs to lighting fixtures, installs new switches and outlets, runs new circuits, control wiring and provides estimates for such works.
10. Assists in other maintenance activities and repairs including but not limited to; pumps, filters, valves, centrifugal fans, blowers, and other plant equipment.
11. Schedules and oversees work performed by contractors or vendors; specifies tasks to be performed; monitors compliance testing and performance issues associated with the contract; and assist in project or contract completion.
12. Performs monitoring on power consumption, power factor, voltage, and other related parameters on the power supplied by the power distribution utility (VECO).
13. Operates and monitors air compressor and it's parameters, conduct scheduled cleaning on in-line air filters, and correct air leakages at the production area.
14. Performs maintenance on standby generator and their control system.
15. Operates generator during power interruptions, coordinate with production supervisor to limit power usage, and contact the power distribution utility (VECO) to update status of the power interruption.
16. Responds to emergency situations including those occurring after normal work hours.
17. Perform other job-related duties required or assigned and not limited to the job description without overlapping with other duties.
