Director of Research, Assessment & Learning Analytics
As we've built our client base of hundreds (soon, thousands) of executives worldwide, scaling and optimizing processes like recruiting EA candidates is of the utmost importance. Process improvement is at the core of enabling greater EA recruitment and will allow us to serve more and more clients.
Our Director of Research, Assessment & Learning Analytics will lead efforts to rebuild and optimize internal processes around a quantifiable measure of EA ability. This will require someone with a detail-oriented passion for the data-driven improvement of processes to analyze and improve internal practices and procedures proactively.
Responsibilities:
The Research, Assessment, and Learning Analytics team is responsible for enabling Athena to be a data-driven organization, leveraging data to inform strategic, operational, and tactical decisions
Reporting to the Chief Learning Officer, the Director for Research, Assessment & Learning Analytics provides leadership to advance the adoption, research, and evaluation of recruiting and learning initiatives at Athena
The Director will provide leadership in these main areas:
Strategic development and implementation of learning analytics which leverages best practices in research methodology and learning sciences to provide insights into the use and impact of learning initiatives.
Development of key partnerships among Athena stakeholders to support research and evaluation of learning initiatives at the organization
Inform the strategic development of a learning analytics infrastructure to understand the EA experience
The Director combines knowledge of learning science with methodological expertise to guide high-quality data analytics and related research and evaluation
The Director will use sophisticated analyses to provide findings that are nuanced, informative, and rigorous
The Director will be responsible for the translation of data into actionable insights for a variety of stakeholders and purposes
The Director will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to support the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to their adoption and use of learning initiatives, including the development of dashboards to deliver accurate and timely data
The Director will supervise data scientists to conduct research and evaluation of learning initiatives with the goal of understanding impact, continuous improvement, and supporting data-driven decision-making
In support of the organization's mission and goals, design and implement a research and data analytics strategy to understand the impact of learning initiatives Athena
Report the results of assessments to stakeholders
Formulate mathematical or simulation models to answer key assessment and research questions with attention to the limitations of data and methodological approaches, possible alternatives, and complex objectives of stakeholders using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and social science statistics
Develop data analytics, dashboards, and data analytics that can provide timely, accurate and insightful support data-driven decision-making related to learning initiatives by different constituencies
Develop and validate a framework for measuring EA competence and employ this framework to shape the creation of learning initiatives
Employ data-driven strategies to measure and track applicant competency
Qualifications:
Strong background in the principles of research methods and data analysis
Ability to design evaluations and to collect, analyze and present data in a clear and concise manner to multiple stakeholders
Ability to build and lead a collaborative team of data analysts and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Fluency with database development and data visualization platforms
Fluency with Python, R and/or SQL to analyze data
Ability to learn and master enterprise-specific computer software applications
Ability to work with diverse constituents at all levels of the organization as well as external stakeholders to develop and implement successful assessment plans
Effective writing and spoken communication skills
Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically obtained through a Ph.D. degree in Education, Psychology, Data Science, Statistics, or a closely related field plus at least five years of relevant work experience
