Job Description
Customer service: Greet customers, provide menus, and suggest menu items. Waiters should be friendly and polite, and strive to provide excellent customer service
Taking orders: Take orders for food, drinks, and dessert from customers.
Communicating with the kitchen: Relay orders to the kitchen staff so they can be prepared correctly.
Delivering food and drinks: Bring food and drinks to customers' tables
Processing payments: Deliver checks and collect payments.
Cleaning tables: Clean tables between groups of customers
Following health and safety regulations: Adhere to all relevant health department rules and regulations.
Collaborating with other staff: Cooperate and communicate with other serving and kitchen staff
Waiters should be knowledgeable about the menu, kitchen preparation methods, and accompaniments. They should also be able to up-sell when appropriate.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
Food safety Knowledge of how to handle food safely to ensure the health of customers
Communication skills The ability to interact with customers and work well with other staff members
Active listening The ability to listen to customers and remember their orders
Attention to detail The ability to ensure orders are complete and that the dining area is clean
Customer service skills The ability to anticipate customer needs, make recommendations, and handle complaints
