PROJECT ENGINEER
 
Objectives of this role
Maximize project efficiency and profitability
Determine project specifications and acquire the necessary materials for completion
Develop scope and parameters for project design and implementation
Identify project responsibilities, delegating phases and elements to the appropriate personnel
Develop and control the full project-plan lifecycle
Responsibilities
Assist Franchise Manager in establishing project objectives, procedures, data collection methods, and performance standards within parameters of corporate policy
Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned engineering projects.
Create and administer testing protocols for monitoring project performance
Inform supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any project activity schedule changes, and work closely with all clients to ensure requirements are met
Oversee budgetary, scheduling, and project databases, and report regularly to Franchise Manager on progress as well as on problems that could significantly affect cost or schedule
Interacting with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and representing them in the field.
Performing quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project's status.
Reviewing the engineering tasks and initiating the necessary corrective actions.
Developing specifications for the project's needed equipment.
Creating frameworks to measure the project's metrics and data collection.
Establishing field test methods and methods for monitoring the quality of those tests.
Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
Required skills and qualifications
Three or more years of experience in project management, project engineering, or project planning (scope, schedule, cost, quality)
Experience in field management
Strong working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD and circuit design
Understanding of compliance and quality assurance guidelines and best practices
Preferred skills and qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
A valid engineering license.
3 or more years' field and project planning experience.
Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software.
The ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
Excellent project management and supervision skills.
Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices in civil engineering and other related fields.
