PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Interfaces with planning and planning management when defects and nonconformances are found. Determine best method to handle deviation from standard process.
Coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets establish specifications
Responsible for overseeing optimal production workflow utilizing lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S
Provides daily, weekly, monthly reports to management. Reports to include production efficiency, rejects, reworks, scrap rates.
Ensures production employees have been trained on job specifics and safety training to perform their duties
Assist quality management in identifying, communicating, and facilitating need for changes to enhance product quality.
Assist with the implementation of quality program(s)
Responsible for coordinating assistant supervisors on training new employees in proper safety and quality practices
Supervision
Directs the workflow in the production department and schedules work hours/days as assigned to employees
Determine the need for overtime as necessary
Responsible for performing all supervisory functions of hiring, evaluating and approving employee related transactions
Safety
Responsible for overseeing of maintaining a clean and safe work environment by providing safety training for employees, identifying safety hazards in the workplace, recommending corrective actions when necessary, providing discipline when necessary for violating Company safety requirements.
Responsible for utilizing proper lifting and material movement techniques at all times
Ensures employees receive appropriate safety training on a regular basis and ensures training documented appropriately
Monitor staff to ensure safety standards are met.
Process Improvement
Actively works to improve production process and provides feedback and suggestions for improvement of the system
Provides input/justification to management on the need for new production, equipment, process or personnel.
In conjunction with quality and engineering, develop strategies for monitoring process, evaluating process efficiencies and implementing process improvement.
