Job Description
Slaughter animals and prepare them for the process of deboning and/or able to cut, trim and prepare carcasses for packing and marketing.
Saw, split or scribe carcasses into smaller portions to facilitate handling.
Pull, twist and remove bones and cut meat into standard cuts in preparation for marketing.
Cut bones from standard cuts of meat, such as chuck, hams, loin, plated, round and shanks to prepare meat for packing and marketing using a knife and meat hook. Insert the knife in the meat around the bones to separate meat, fat, tissue and defects.
Sort, vacuum pack, weigh, box and label the carcass cuts for shipping department.
Follow Food Safety and Health/Safety Requirements. Willing to attend trade test.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
3 years continuous work experience as a butcher, meat cutter, deboner within the last 5 years, without gaps and verifiable employment history.
Training in butchering/slaughtering/meat cutting/deboning is advantageous.
With good deboning and knife skills.
Able to move and handle carcasses of various weights on a daily basis.
Communication skills-have good spoken/written English.
Language: English level equivalent to CLB 4 (minimum)
