PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engages in the development and update of guidance and counseling policies, procedures, programs, projects, activities, and services.
Analyzes results of the Student Needs Assessment Survey and design guidance and counseling programs and activities relevant to the identified needs of students aligned to statutory or regulatory requirements.
Attends call-in or walk-in students requiring guidance and counseling sessions; conducts individual and group counseling sessions with students in the areas of personality, career, interest, aptitude, mental ability, achievement, etc. in the context of developmental preventive or remedial approaches to help them achieve their academic and personal development goals.
Conducts routine, in-depth and follow-up interviews with students with specific concerns as referred by the school administrators and faculty members; conducts follow-up studies on cases of clients and student protocols and undertakes further referrals to other professional counseling practitioners as may be necessary.
Extends corollary guidance and counseling services to parents/ guardians of students and to employees of the institution on the clients' request.
Prepares psychological reports, case studies and profiles of individual students.
Interprets psychological test results to students, school administrators, faculty members, and parents or guardians.
Develops and recommends intervention programs based on the results of the psychological test and facilitates in the deployment of such upon the recommending approval of the SASC Director with the College Deans.
Conducts case conferences and training programs for the administrators, faculty members, homeroom advisers, parents/ guardians, and other significant partners to generate their cooperation in the provision of guidance counseling services to students and in the development and implementation of further interventions.
Assists in the administration of entrance examinations for applicants for admission.
Conducts interview with applicants for admission as requested for special cases, and prepares recommendations on decision action.
Works with the Psychometrician in planning and implementing the testing program comprising of the annual tests and entrance and placement examinations for students.
Assists the Psychometrician in constructing local norms for acquired tests and diagnostic instruments developed in other countries.
Participates in the conduct of Research for data related to student affairs to be utilized by the University in implementing programs
Establishes partnership with the administrators and faculty members in designing and conducting research studies to determine students' profiles as well as their needs and concerns, and to assess the effectiveness of the existing guidance programs.
Produces action research output once every academic year relevant to student welfare and development.
