Job Description
All drivers though need to be familiar with every piece of equipment their unit carries, they should know the operation of and the maintenance requirements of the equipment and the unit itself.
They should have good working knowledge of their territory to safely deliver the unit and its firefighters to a scene .
A driver on a pumper must know the requirements of the hose lines, pressures, volume etc. to effectively deliver the amount of water at proper pressure required to mitigate any given scene.
A driver on a ladder has different duties as each department requires. Some of those duties might be to direct salvage and overhaul, or disconnecting utilities, running the hurst tool in a rescue situation or directing rope evolutions.
The Driver of a Quint has a combination of these duties. This is just a simple overview as each department has their own duty requirements.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
Male applicants are preferred for this role.
