Job Description
Meat Procurement and Inventory Management: Source high-quality meats from suppliers, maintain adequate inventory levels, and ensure proper storage and rotation of products to minimize waste.
Meat Cutting and Preparation: Oversee the butchering process, ensuring precision, quality, and adherence to safety and hygiene standards. Train and guide staff in proper cutting techniques.
Product Presentation: Ensure that meat products are expertly trimmed, portioned, and presented in an appealing and customer-friendly manner.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their meat selection, offering cooking suggestions, and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of butchers and support staff. Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
Quality Control: Monitor meat quality, inspect products for freshness and compliance with safety standards, and take corrective actions as needed.
Cost Management: Implement cost-effective practices to optimize butchery operations, minimize waste, and control expenses.
Health and Safety: Ensure that all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed in the handling, processing, and storage of meat products.
Inventory and Ordering: Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies as needed, and manage supplier relationships to secure favorable terms.
Marketing and Sales: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotions, displays, and marketing strategies to increase sales and customer engagement.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and operational activities. Prepare regular reports for management.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be a Post Graduate Diploma / Master's Degree holder.
1. Butchery Expertise: Extensive knowledge of meat cutting, processing, and presentation. Previous experience as a butcher or in a similar role is essential.
2. Managerial Experience: Proven experience in managing a team, scheduling shifts, and overseeing daily operations.
3. Food Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in meat handling, processing, and storage.
4. Customer-Focused: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to provide outstanding customer service and address customer needs
5. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
6. Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure product quality and adherence to standards.
7. Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, customers, and suppliers.
8. Problem-Solving: Ability to make quick decisions and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.
9. Atleast 2 years' experience in the field
