Job Title: Accounting Manager
 
Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and manage our accounting department. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, implementing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures, and supervising a team of accountants. The ideal candidate will have a CPA certification and extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
 
Responsibilities:
 
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Communicate financial results to senior management and provide insights for decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Work with department heads to understand and manage budgetary requirements.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors for annual audits.
Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and ensure compliance.
Team Management:
Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff.
Assign tasks and responsibilities, monitor progress, and provide feedback.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Identify trends, opportunities, and risks to the company's financial performance.
Provide recommendations for improvement based on financial analysis.
Tax Compliance:
Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
Review tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Identify tax planning opportunities to minimize tax liabilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA certification is required.
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial accounting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience in the [specific industry or sector relevant to the company].
Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Experience with financial modeling and analysis.
